About Us
I spent most of my life believing I was the problem.
For decades, I felt like I didn't belong. I worked harder, pushed further, and took on more than I should have, trying to earn a sense of worth through achievement. Stress became normal. Masking became survival. I learned how to perform "normal" at the cost of myself.
Everything changed when my son was diagnosed as autistic. What started as a search to better support him became a mirror I couldn't ignore. This led to a diagnosis of ADHD and autism in my forties. Suddenly, the puzzle pieces made sense. The anxiety, the exhaustion, the constant feeling of being out of step with the world weren't personal failures. They were signs of a neurodivergent mind navigating systems never designed for it.
That understanding didn't just bring relief. It brought anger, clarity, and resolve.
I realised how many of us are praised for overworking, for pushing past our limits, for sacrificing ourselves to fit in, until our bodies or minds force us to stop. I also experienced how quickly effort and loyalty can be forgotten when you no longer perform as expected.
Crick & Sons was created as a line in the sand.
We are done hiding.
Done masking.
Done being ashamed of how our brains work.
Neurodivergent minds are not broken. They are original. Built for creativity, awareness, and adaptation. Long before anyone defined "normal," these minds helped humans survive and evolve. The problem isn't our wiring. It's the narrow systems that refuse to make space for difference.
This work is personal, but it's bigger than me. I can't change the years I spent struggling without answers, but I can help build a future where my children, and others like them, don't grow up believing they are less.
